Millcreek history

Miller Camp centers around the vicinity of Thirty-third South and State Street and was originally known as Mill Creek which was organized into a ward in April 1849, with Joel H Johnson as Bishop and Reuben Miller and James Rawlins as his counselors.  In April 1851, Reuben Miller was ordained bishop and served for thirty-one years until his death in 1882.  Miller Camp was named in his honor.

This is in Salt Lake County and is about 3-4 miles south of the Salt Lake Temple.
